Denim 8oz Washed Dark $42/m

Meet our Washed 8oz Denim in Dark 🧵

Why we love this: this is a denim with all the versatility of the Medium Wash, dialled into a deeper, richer indigo.

A soft-handle 8oz denim with a genuine mid-weight versatility — not too heavy for a relaxed shirt, not too light for trousers that need to hold their shape. The darker, more saturated colour is a great way to elevate a denim garment. It's mill-washed before it reaches you, which means the selvedges can look a little distressed — that's part of its character, not a flaw. Expect gentle fading over time, the good kind that comes from a fabric that's meant to be lived in.

A note from the studio: pre-wash before you cut, and be kind to it on that first wash — see our fabric care instructions for more detail.

Beautiful for: The Eve Trousers for a darker, more formal-leaning pair. A relaxed shirt or jacket where the deeper tone reads a little more elevated. The Trapeze if you want a dress with more weight to the colour.

Care Instructions:

This fabric will fade over time, avoid storing or drying in direct sunlight.

We recommend pre-washing your fabric before sewing.

Putting a large piece of medium-heavy weight cloth into the washing machine can sometimes lead to white creases in the fabric, this is because it is a stiff fabric so it doesn’t have room to move around.

We recommend doing the following to help this not to happen:
Wash your fabric on its own for the first wash.
Sink your fabric in water beforehand, letting it fully absorb, so you are putting in the cloth already wet.
If you can break up your fabric into half this will help.
For the first wash use a delicate 30 degree cycle with a low spin.
If any white creases develop ironing whilst still damp will help.

Do not tumble dry.

When you have made the garment we would recommend washing it inside out.

  • Fabric pricing is for 0.25m fabric (1 quantity = 0.25m)
  • You can order in 0.25m increments (i.e. 4 quantities = 1m x width of fabric)
  • Orders of 0.5m (2 quantities) or more will be cut as one continuous length
  • Orders of 0.25m (1 quantity) will be cut across the full width of fabric (25cm x fabric width)
  • As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project
