Why we love this: the yarn-dyed dobby weave that gives a plain white fabric real depth without a single print in sight.

A soft, airy white from Asaki in Japan – yarn-dyed and woven on a dobby loom, so the subtle textured pattern you see is built into the cloth itself, not printed over it. At 110gsm it's genuinely lightweight, a little sheer, breathable, the kind of cloth that makes you want to sew something loose and easy rather than fitted. Cotton gives it softness, linen gives it just enough texture and body to keep its shape.

A note from the studio: because this fabric runs light and slightly sheer, it's worth considering a lining or an underslip if you're making something fitted — or lean into the sheerness deliberately for a relaxed summer piece where a little transparency is part of the look. 

Beautiful for: A fuller summer dress where the fabric can move and breathe. A relaxed shirt or blouse for the warmest months. A fuller skirt with a slip underneath.

Wash on cool with non-bio detergent.

If you are using this fabric for curtains, we recommend using a lining to prevent the fabric from fading.

Do not dry in direct sunlight as this causes the fabric to fade/bleach.

• Fabric pricing is for 0.25m fabric (1 quantity = 0.25m)
• You can order in 0.25m increments (i.e. 4 quantities = 1m x width of fabric)
• Orders of 0.5m (2 quantities) or more will be cut as one continuous length
• Orders of 0.25m (1 quantity) will be cut across the full width of fabric (25cm x fabric width) 
• As all computer monitors show colours differently, we recommend ordering a sample of the cloth to check it is the right colour and weight for your project
